File Transfer and Scanning

Have you got a collection of stories stuck on an old Amstrad PCW disc which you can't read? It's possible to transfer them onto a disc which can be read on a standard IBM-compatible computer, in a format which your Windows word processor can read. If you have a newer Amstrad PCW which only has the modern 3.5" disc drive, the files from an old PCW can be transferred to that your new machine can read them. The cost will depend on what form of transfer you require and the number of files on the discs but is usually £8.50 including replacement disc and postage. Email kobweb for details.

Not got an Amstrad, but stuck with data on some other kind of disc? We may be able to help - try us.

Perhaps you have a typescript which you would like to edit before resubmitting, but don't fancy re-typing it all into a word processor? Don't worry - there's no need to pay someone to re-type it, it can be fed through a scanning machine and then Optical Character Recognition will turn it into a word-processor file. The cost of this will depend on how well the text can be recognised, and what level of proof-reading you require, but it will usually be well below the £3.50 /1000 words that re-typing will cost! Email kobweb for details.

NOTE: There is a small chance that something might go wrong, or that your work may be lost in transit, so always make a copy before parting with anything of which only one copy exists. While kobweb will make every effort to keep your material safe and sound, liability can only be accepted for the value of any lost or damaged media, not for the content of discs or scripts.
